World Water Day 2019

Clean water for everyone, everywhere!

Bluewater celebrates World Water Day with an appeal to everyone, everywhere to join us in helping to make the difference before the emerging global water shortage becomes our immediate local water shortage.

Bluewater is on a mission to provide everyone, everywhere with pure water to drink, bathe in and wash with. It is not an easy task in a world where billions of people live without safe water. A world where water scarcity is accelerating, due to growing populations, climate change and poor management. WWF (World Wildlife Fund) predicts that by 2025, two-thirds of the worlds population may face water shortages.

When it comes to water scarcity we are all in the same boat, rich nations and poor alike. Britain, known for its drizzly weather, could run out of fresh water within 25 years according to the UK Environment Agency.

Our contribution

At Bluewater we are doing our bit to live up to the belief of our founder, Bengt Rittri, a Swedish environmental entrepreneur, that access to clean water is a human right. We have developed technology that delivers safe water to people at point of use, in their homes, schools, workplaces, and public areas. A Bluewater water purifier removes practically all known contaminants, including microplastics, toxic metals and chemicals, ensuring it is safe to drink, wash food with, or use to take a shower or bath.

We have put removing the need for the single-use plastic bottles that pollute our lakes, rivers and oceans at the heart of our business mission. As a result you’ll find our public hydration stations serving purified still or sparkling water from municipal or non-potable sources to visitors to sporting, musical and other events all over the world.

Imagine H2O Urban Water Challenge

Another impact-driving activity is our backing for the annual one million dollar Imagine H2O Urban Water Challenge, a global innovation competition that empowers entrepreneurs to deploy water technologies with fast-growing cities globally.
